Heather L. Woods
Heather Woods is an attorney practicing commercial litigation, with an emphasis on business litigation, real estate, and construction disputes. Heather routinely represents public and private business entities, including their officers, directors and other stakeholders, real estate developers, lenders, landowners, and title insurance companies. Heather has significant experience representing clients in state courts and federal courts both in Florida and around the country.
Prior to joining the firm, Heather was an associate at a round-table firm for a major financial institution, a national creditors’ rights firm focusing on commercial transactions and bankruptcy-related issues, and a leading boutique corporate law firm.
Among others, Heather has successfully litigated matters relating to construction defects, landlord disputes, title insurance claims, regulatory violations, consumer protection issues, contested foreclosures, insurance matters, motions for relief from the automatic stay, adversary proceedings, shareholder class actions, such as claims involving breaches of fiduciary duties, advancement actions, indemnification proceedings, breaches of contract, fraud, and negligence.
Prior to entering private practice, Heather clerked for the Hon. Richard F. Stokes in the Delaware Superior Court, a court of general jurisdiction that handles both civil and criminal matters and serves as an appellate court to the Court of Common Pleas and administrative agencies throughout Delaware. She also interned for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida for the Hon. Thomas G. Wilson, and interned at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, Appellate Division.
