Isaac Mitrani
Isaac J. Mitrani is a seasoned trial lawyer with particular experience handling complex business disputes involving real estate, professional liability, fiduciary duty, civil fraud, white collar crime, wrongful death and intellectual property. He is among the few Miami commercial litigators to have tried over 50 cases involving wide-ranging subject matter, including securing a verdict against a local municipality for federal civil rights violations; obtaining a $30 Million+ Judgment on behalf of a Title Insurer on claims of fraud against real estate developers; and obtaining a jury verdict in favor of a law firm sued by Miami’s former Mayor. He also serves as a mediator and as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
Prior to joining the firm, Issac was the founding partner and for more than four decades, the managing director of a highly regarded Miami commercial litigation firm. He also served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Miami in both the major crimes and fraud units where the Department of Justice recognized him with its Special Achievement Award.
Issac has lectured extensively to attorneys on topics including “Avoiding Legal Malpractice Claims” and to law enforcement groups. He is a past president of the South Florida Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and creator and moderator of the first presentation of the Federal Bar Association’s trial advocacy seminar, “Trial Masters.” He has also taught trial and pre-trial advocacy for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA).
Isaac was born in Cuba, and grew up in New York City. He graduated from The Cooper Union, summa cum laude, with a degree in civil engineering. Prior to law school, he worked as a structural engineer with the New York consulting firm now known as Thornton Tomasetti. After graduating from Harvard Law School, he served as law clerk to Hon. William Hoeveler of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
